On Track and Set to Impress
01 August 2017
Construction is well and truly underway on what is set to be an exciting addition to the local accommodation sector. Scheduled to open in March 2018, the Mantra Hotel Albury makes up part of the Volt Lane Precinct on Smollett Street.
A full-service hotel offering 146 rooms, including 7 executive suites, the Mantra Hotel Albury will include a restaurant and bar, executive lounge, gymnasium, large conference and meetings facilities, and basement parking in the heart of Albury’s CBD.
Head of the Mantra construction project, Oliver Coakes, is pleased with the project’s progress to date.
“We’re really excited by the progress we’ve made,” he said. “Fit-out has commenced on the lower floors and the final slab pour will take place next month.”
“We’re confident that when complete, the property will not only provide a market-leading hotel offering, but will also add to the visual appeal of Smollett Street.”
Supporting the city’s ‘open for business’ proposition, Mr Coakes has been impressed by what he’s seen in Albury.
“We’ve had dealings with many of the key stakeholders in the city and it’s only reinforced our opinion that Albury is a growing, thriving place to do business,” he said.
“Council have come to the table willing to assist us through the planning process which we appreciate – it’s one less complicating factor for the project.”
Pre-bookings for the Mantra Albury Hotel will start in October, together with a comprehensive marketing campaign to promote the new hotel to the corporate and leisure market.
