Albury Airport Upgrades Now Complete
Thursday 20 September 2018
Works on the Albury Airport’s multi-million dollar expansion and upgrade are now complete.
The airport remained open and operational during the construction period, with a focus on minimising the impact on customers.
The total project cost was $5.7m with a grant of $3.3m received to partly fund the project via the Restart NSW Fund.
Key features of the recent upgrade include:
- Expanded arrivals hall
- A second baggage carousel
- A larger departure lounge
- Revamp of the Uiver Café and Bar and
- A plane viewing area for all visitors to enjoy.
The upgrade will alleviate passenger congestion, especially in the arrivals and departures areas during peak periods, as well as accommodate future passenger growth as a result of projected increases in visitors to the region.
This significant investment in the airport upgrade highlights strong economic growth prospects for the region and provides the ability to leap ahead in business and leisure travel while meeting growing demand for air travel in and out of Albury.
