Extra Parking just in Time for Christmas
Friday 17 November 2017
The Kiewa Street multi-deck carpark will be opened just in time to accommodate the Christmas rush.
Another important step in the completion of the Volt Lane Precinct works, the $4.5 million carpark will have a total capacity of 724 all-day spaces, doubling the 359 previously available.
While Monday to Friday the carpark will primarily cater for CBD workers, the development is also positioned in a central location for those seeking retail-therapy on the weekend; further reinforcing Albury’s position as the premier destination for shopping in the region.
“We see the provision of free parking for workers and shoppers as an important part of activating our city,” AlburyCity Mayor Kevin Mack said.
“These kinds of amenities are essential to the liveability of Albury and will lead to an injection of traffic into our CBD businesses”.
Given its prime location, development of the carpark has also included the installation of a colourful screen façade to create visual interest.
Developers, Volt Lane Pty Ltd, are simultaneously finalising the Kiewa Street carpark and Mantra hotel project adding to the visual appeal of the southern part of Albury's CBD.
