Making the Case for Regional Relocation

Tuesday 1 August 2017

Did you know Albury is part of one of the most successful residential relocation marketing campaigns in Australia? Launched in 2010, Evocities aims to change perceptions of life in a regional city and encourage people to live, work and invest in an Evocity.

The Evocities of Albury, Armidale, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, Tamworth and Wagga Wagga have taken a collaborative approach to marketing into capital cities to promote the benefits of regional living - less time commuting, working and stressing and a more balanced lifestyle than can be found in Sydney or Melbourne.

In support of the campaign’s success to date, Evocities has received $300,000 in State funding to continue its advertising campaign. Member for Albury, Greg Aplin is not surprised by the funding win, noting that the campaign “will appeal to businesses wanting to expand into new markets, skilled workers looking to escape the city rat race and young families seeking a more relaxed lifestyle”.

And the figures show the message is really hitting its mark with more than 521,000 visitors to the Evocities website and more than 3,000 families having made the move to one of the Evocities.

One way that Albury businesses can really take advantage of the marketing efforts of the Evocities campaign is to load any ‘positions vacant’ free of charge on the Evojobs website.

This site averages more than 30,000 visits per month with fantastic exposure into capital city markets. Increasingly, local job seekers are also using the site to find and apply for vacant positions. The website is user friendly, and allows employers to link up to other online platforms, including your company website or other employment websites such as Seek.
