New Industry Body Launched to Strengthen Albury Wodonga’s Manufacturing Future

The Albury Wodonga region is set to boost its manufacturing prowess with the launch of Manufacturing BRIDGE (Border Region Industry Development & Growth Exchange), a new industry body designed to highlight and support the sector’s quality, innovation, and sustainability.

BRIDGE will bring together key decision makers, business leaders and experts to explore opportunities for collaboration, sustainability and competitiveness.

Member for Albury, Justin Clancy, welcomed the initiative, emphasising the vital role manufacturing plays in the local economy. The most recent figures show the sector employs over 4,200 people in Albury Wodonga and generates an impressive $4.3 billion in annual economic output.

With 35 years of experience in the local industry, Albury Precision Engineering’s Karen Habermann, who serves as BRIDGE Secretary, highlighted the importance of building awareness about the sector’s capabilities.

“We need to inspire young people to see that staying local doesn’t mean missing out on a high-tech, rewarding career”, Mrs Habermann said. “Our region offers exciting opportunities to be part of the next wave of technological advancements in manufacturing”.

Local SME manufacturers are invited to connect and learn about the initiative by contacting Karen at admin@alburyprecisionengineering.com.au or 0419 431 933.
