The Hamilton Apartments, located at the eastern end of Albury’s CBD on Hume Street, have proven popular, selling or leasing all residential and commercial space soon after hitting the market.
Designed by Edmiston Jones and named after Sir Hamilton Hume, one of Albury’s founding explorers, the development provides contemporary urban living and great access to a social lifestyle close to the heart of the CBD.
Developer, Travis Barker of Barker Group, said when comparing to other older style buildings in the area, “what sets it apart is that it provides a brand-new space, in a prominent location, that is energy efficient”. The complex also provides parking, which is a huge bonus for commercial and residential occupants.
The building itself offers 6 storeys, with the first two floors dedicated to commercial occupants, already housing Border General Practice, pathology, and a café on the ground floor. The first floor will be home to professional services including an accountant and physio. The upper four floors are dedicated to 30 high-end apartments, ranging from 1 to 3 bedrooms.
When asked about the Hamilton apartment complex, CommSec chief economist, Craig James, told the Border Mail in November 2021 “Albury Wodonga is performing well based on economic indicators and there must be a degree of confidence if you get a development of that sort of nature”.
The market in Albury Wodonga remains strong for residential, commercial and industrial development.
